KANSAS CITY -- The Kansas City Royals return to Kauffman Stadium to open their second-half home schedule by facing the New York Yankees for the first time this season. The four-game set is highlighted with a salute to the 2007 Ford C. Frick Award winner Denny Matthews as well as a T-Shirt Tuesday celebrating the 24th anniversary of George Brett's "Pine Tar" home run on Tuesday, July 24. The seven-game homestand then wraps with three games against the Texas Rangers, a series that includes the third Royals Hall of Fame Bobblehead - Steve Busby - on Saturday, July 28.

Royals Hall of Fame Blood Drive: Join the Royals, 2007 Ford C. Frick award winner Denny Matthews and 810 WHB for the Royals Hall of Fame Blood Drive July 23-27 at the Community Blood Centers in Kansas City, St. Joseph, Jefferson City, Mo., Lawrence and Topeka, Kan. T-Shirt Tuesday - George Brett Pine Tar Powder Blue T-Shirt: The first 20,000 fans will receive an exclusive Royals T-shirt, which commemorates the 24th anniversary of Brett's famous "Pine Tar" home run against the Yankees.
Denny Matthews Hall of Fame Salute: The first 20,000 fans will receive a Denny Matthews Hall of Fame button as the club salutes the "Voice of the Royals" before he heads to Cooperstown, N.Y., on Sunday, July 29 to accept the 2007 Ford C. Frick Award. Denny will address Royals fans during the pre-game ceremonies and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Denny Matthews Appearance at Royals Hall of Fame Blood Drive: Denny Matthews joins Royals mascot Sluggerrr at the Community Blood Center on 4040 Main Street in Kansas City, Mo., to greet blood donors during the Royals Hall of Fame Blood Drive. Sluggerrr will be there from noon to 1 p.m. and Denny will meet fans from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Donors can take part in a free tailgate lunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Legends Luncheon with Brian Bannister: Join Royals pitcher Brian Bannister at the next State Farm Legends Luncheon. The event will be held at the Madrid Theater (3810 Main St. in Kansas City, Mo.) beginning with lunch at 11:30 a.m. An hour-long stage presentation will follow from noon to 1 p.m., giving fans a unique insight to the game. The monthly luncheon series is hosted by former Royals Al Fitzmorris and Willie Wilson and benefits the Buck O'Neil Education and Research Center. Dream Factory: Celebrating a 15-year partnership with Dream Factory, the Royals will grant the wish of a Dream Factory child, who faces a life-altering illness, with a unique game-day experience at the ballpark. The child's Royals experience will appear on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast in the "Dream Factory" segment.
College Night: Both college and high school students score big with $5 Outfield Plaza tickets for Wednesday night games all season long. Students will receive a $14 ticket for just $5 by showing their student I.D. College Night tickets are available for purchase only on the day of the game at Kauffman Stadium (no phone orders). Ticket windows open 90 minutes prior to game time.

Royals Hall of Fame Bobblehead Series No. 3 - Steve Busby: The first 20,000 fans will receive a Steve Busby bobblehead from Dodge, the third of five Royals Hall of Fame Bobbleheads this season. Also, from 4:30-5:15 p.m., Busby will be in the lower seating bowl of Kauffman Stadium for an autograph session.
