Royals and Entercom-Kansas City announce 2008 Spring Training broadcast schedule

KANSAS CITY -- The Kansas City Royals and Entercom-Kansas City announce the 2008 Royals Spring Training Radio schedule. The Royals and Entercom announced the a 15-game broadcast schedule, airing on 610 Sports and News Radio 980 KMBZ, with a remaining five games to be announced at a later date pending Big 12 and NCAA scheduling. The scheduled radio broadcasts are as follows:

Feb, 29 - Royals vs. San Diego, 2:05PM - KCSP
March 1 - Royals vs. Texas, 2:05PM - KCSP
March 2 - Royals vs. Texas, 2:05PM - KMBZ
March 3 - Royals vs. Chicago White Sox, 2:05PM - KCSP
March 5 - Royals vs. San Francisco, 2:05PM - KCSP
March 6 - Royals vs. Arizona, 2:05PM - KCSP
March 7 - Royals vs. Colorado, 2:05PM - KCSP
March 9 - Royals vs. Chicago Cubs, 3:05PM - KMBZ
March 10 - Royals vs. San Francisco, 3:05PM - KCSP
March 12 - Royals vs. LA Angels, 3:05PM - KCSP
March 17 - Royals vs. Oakland, 3:05PM - KCSP
March 18 - Royals vs. Chicago Cubs, 3:05PM - KCSP
March 24 - Royals vs. LA Dodgers, 8:05PM - KCSP
March 25 - Royals vs. San Diego, 9:05PM - KCSP
March 26 - Royals vs. Seattle, 3:05PM - KCSP

610 Sports will provide daily in-depth Royals programming during Spring Training and regular season games, while Sunday broadcasts will be featured on News Radio 980 KMBZ.

"KCSP 610 Sports and 980 KMBZ are excited to be able to bring Royals fans throughout the Midwest the first sounds of summer beginning with the Royals and San Diego Padres game on February 29," said Allan Davis, KCSP/KMBZ Operations Director. "March should be a fun month of listening on 610 Sports with Royals Spring Training games, KU in the hunt for a National Championship in men's basketball and NASCAR Racing with the SPRINT CUP."

In August 2007, Entercom-Kansas City and the Kansas City Royals entered into a five-year agreement to broadcast the Royals on radio and promote Royals baseball across the Entercom family. Flagship station 610 Sports' in-depth coverage beyond the games will include manager and players' shows, daily recaps, and full coverage of Spring Training.
