Royals Charities Coat Drive set for Sept. 28
Kauffman Stadium 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Swimming pools have been drained. School buses are popping up all over the neighborhood. Leaves are starting to fall. The Royals regular season is winding down.
There is no denying that winter is right around the corner, which has Royals Charities swinging into gear with its fourth annual Royals Charities Coat Drive.
On Friday, Sept. 28, prior to the Royals weekend opener against the Cleveland Indians, Royals Wives and Royals Charities volunteers will be manning the gates of Kauffman Stadium to collect new and gently worn coats. This year, the coats will benefit the Johnson County Christmas Bureau, which strives annually to provide holiday assistance to low-income families from Johnson County, Kansas.
The coats will be collected from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Gates A, B, C and D of the stadium with the Royals Wives stationed at Gate B. Coats of all sizes for men, women, boys and girls will be accepted.
Winter is on its way and there are too many in the Kansas City area without a coat. Help Royals Charities lend a hand to these needy residents through the simple act of making your unused coats available to them.
