Saturday, January 19 - Royals FanFest

Royals FanFest, presented by Sprint and Teva Neuroscience, is set for January 19 at the Overland Park Convention Center. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Royals Charities. FanFest will feature autographs with current and former player and club personalities, interactive games for kids and roundtable discussions with players and front office executives. The club's 2012 Major League Award winners will also be recognized during the event!

Monday, April 8 - Greater Kansas City Day

On the day of the home opener, the Royals team up with more than 1,600 volunteers to sell a special Royals edition of the Kansas City Star throughout the city. Proceeds from the sales help send kids to Rotary Youth Camp and other deserving children's charities.

The Royals join the Missouri Lottery to honor outstanding educators through the Missouri Lottery Stars of the Classroom recognition program. Prior to six Royals games throughout the season, the Missouri Lottery and the Royals celebrate the achievements of top teachers from six school districts in the metro area.

Thursday, May 2 - Hosmer to Appear at Big Brothers Big Sisters Event

Big Brother Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City (BBBS-KC) will host "Step Up to the Plate with Eric Hosmer" from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Hosmer will appear at the event to recruit "Bigs" for the more than 500 kids in Kansas City waiting for a match.

Saturday, May 11 - Operation Blessing

The Royals join forces with the Kansas City Chiefs and Operation Blessing International to feed more than 2,000 needy families in Kansas City. Under the motto "Two Teams: One Goal," the clubs join more than 200 community volunteers to distribute Operation Blessing's food and toys to those who need it most. Distribution will begin at approximately 11 a.m. at the KC Power and Light lot, located at East 30th St. and Troost Ave. in Kansas City, Mo.

The first 10,000 women through the gates for the club's 1:10 p.m. series finale vs. the New York Yankees will receive a ladies pashmina scarf courtesy of Diet Pepsi.

Tickets will be limited to the first 250 fans and can be purchased at Rally House the day of the appearance.

The Royals recognize the 2013 class of the MLB Royals All-Star Scholars program. The scholars have the opportunity for a $2,500 per-year scholarship, renewable up to four years at any two- or four-year college/university in Missouri or Kansas. The students were selected from the 20/20 Leadership program, which serves students from moderate- to low-income families to educate and expose them to community issues, develop personal and leadership skills and build community-wide relationships. The program identifies five students per year and was created from proceeds from the 2012 All-Star Game in Kansas City.

The Royals host young baseball players from the Miracle League of Olathe to play a game at the Blue KC Little K from 4-5 p.m. The kids, who have various types of physical disabilities, have been playing in the backyard of a home in Merriam, Kan. On July 24, the Royals will join other community group to break ground on a new field that will be used by the young ballplayers near Olathe Northwest High School. Royals Alumni will participate in the game as well.

The Royals host the Ban Johnson All-Star Game before the club's 1:10 p.m. game against the Tigers. The Royals have hosted the event, which features many of the top college ballplayers from the area that play in this summer bat league, since 1969.

Before the game, kids and fans young at heart can enjoy lots of entertainment and activities in the Outfield Experience including a concert by School of Rock, autograph session with Sluggerrr and plenty more! There will also be a Toys for Tots collection set up at the entry gates for anyone who wants to drop off new and unopened toys.

The Major League Baseball Players Association hosts underprivileged children in all 30 ballparks through the Buses for Baseball program. The special guests will have a chance to meet with select Royals players and receive tickets, souvenirs, food and transportation.

Tuesday, July 23 - McCoy Park Adaptive Field Groundbreaking

In partnership with Variety Children’s Charity of Greater Kansas City and the Cal Ripken, Sr., Foundation, the Royals and Royals Charities will use funds from the 2012 MLB Gatorade All-Star Workout Day to support the building of two adaptive baseball fields for children with disabilities. The first groundbreaking will be held at McCoy Park in Independence, Mo.

Wednesday, July 24 - Olathe Miracle Field Groundbreaking

The Royals and Royals Charities will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the second of two adaptive fields being built with proceeds from the 2012 MLB Gatorade All-Star Workout Day that will serve as the new home field for the Miracle League of Olathe. The field will be built at the Olathe Northwest High School Athletic Complex in Olathe, Kan.

Fans can meet Billy Butler at Rally House in Lenexa, Kan., from noon-1 p.m. Please note that you are required to have a ticket for an autograph. A ticket is available for a $10 donation to Bishop Sullivan Center to help support Billy’s charity, Hit-It-A-Ton. Tickets will be limited to the first 250 fans and can be purchased at Rally House the day of the appearance.

The Royals partner with Major League Baseball umpires to offer memorable baseball experiences for children awaiting adoption and at-risk youth in mentoring programs. Royals Charities is once again teaming with The Ali Kemp Educational Foundation to host a T.A.K.E. Defense self-defense class on the field at Kauffman Stadium. The class is free of charge and open to females ages 12 and older. Participants must pre-register and those under the age of 18 will also need a signature from a parent or guardian to participate.

In honor of Hall of Fame legend Roberto Clemente - who died on New Year's Eve 1972 during a humanitarian mission to assist earthquake victims in Nicaragua - Major League Baseball and all 30 Clubs annually commemorate Roberto Clemente Day. This initiative pays tribute to Clemente's lasting legacy and recognizes players who best represent the game of baseball through sportsmanship, community involvement and positive contributions, both on and off the field. Local club nominees for the Roberto Clemente Award are recognized in pregame ceremonies.

Royals Charities hosts Shirts Off Their Backs, giving fans the opportunity to win an autographed jersey from a Royals player! Throughout the game, volunteers will sell $1 instant win scratch tickets. Following the game, winners will be escorted to the field where they will receive a game-worn jersey directly from one of the Royals. Fans also have an opportunity to bid on one of the spots and secure their place on the field. Proceeds benefit Royals Charities and a local Kansas City charity.
