Royals FanFest, presented by Sprint and Teva Neuroscience, is set for January 19 at the Overland Park Convention Center. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Royals Charities. In honor of Hall of Fame legend Roberto Clemente - who died on New Year's Eve 1972 during a humanitarian mission to assist earthquake victims in Nicaragua - Major League Baseball and all 30 Clubs annually commemorate Roberto Clemente Day. This initiative pays tribute to Clemente's lasting legacy and recognizes players who best represent the game of baseball through sportsmanship, community involvement and positive contributions, both on and off the field. Local club nominees for the Roberto Clemente Award are recognized in pregame ceremonies.
