Where
Starting outside the Truman Sports Complex and ending near home plate. (Course subject to change.)
Registration Dates and Entry Fee
$25 by August 1st
$30 by August 29th at 11:59 p.m. CT
$35 during packet pick-up September 2 & 3 (No Race Day Registration)
Packet Pickup & Late Registration
After August 29th, participants can register and pick up race packets at Rivals Sports Bar inside Kauffman Stadium. Registration and packet pick-up times are as follows:
Packet Pick-up Times:
Thursday, September 2, 7:30am - 2pm
Friday, September 3, 7:30am - 5pm
Saturday, September 4, 6:30am - 7:45am
Directions
Take I-70 to Blue Ridge Cutoff and enter Gate 2. Park in Lot A and proceed to Gate E. Rivals Sports Bar is located inside Gate E.
Entry Includes
Participants in the 2010 5K Royals Run/Walk receives:
  • One Hy-Vee Infield ticket to Saturday, September 4 Royals game (Value $16.00)
  • Commemorative T-Shirt
  • Food and drink following the race
  • Option to purchase additional discounted tickets to Saturday, September 4, 2010 Royals game vs. the Detroit Tigers
Age Groups
13 & Under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over
Awards
Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers and to the top three finishers in each age bracket. Awards will be distributed following the race in the Outfield Plaza Party area.
Course
The 5K Run/Walk course will be USATF certified and chip timed.
Proceeds
Proceeds from the 5K Run/Walk will benefit the Autism Alliance of Kansas City and Royals Charities. The Autism Alliance of Kansas City is committed to the development of a network of resources targeted toward fostering an informed community that facilitates the independence, acceptance, and emotional well-being of individuals with autism spectrum disorders throughout their entire life span. Royals Charities supports over 100 charities in Kansas City and in a six state area by donating funds or in-kind support.
Donations
Royals Charities and the Autism Alliance of Kansas City are asking you to "THINK BIG" and make a donation to help individuals and families touched by Autism. Fundraising is available for teams, individuals and schools. All monies raised stay in the Kansas City metropolitan area. It is only through your generosity that the Autism Alliance will be able to continue to address the needs of the rapidly growing number of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders throughout the bi-state area and Royals Charities continue to donate funds to more than 100 local Kansas City charities.
Collect Donations
Donations can be made online. You may send a link to possible donors and ask that they specify you as the runner/walker they are donating towards. This may be helpful to allow people to make contributions using their credit cards through a secure website. You may also set up a personalized walker page through the online registration website to collect donations from friends, family, co-workers, etc.

Prizes
There will be prizes awarded for the following categories:
 
1. School Districts with the most walkers - The school district with the most participants in the walk will receive a grant to be used specifically for autism-based services. It is important to identify your school district on your registration form in order to receive proper credit.
  • 1st place - $750 grant
  • 2nd place - $500 grant
2. Most money raised by an individual (an individual not associated with a team) -
  • 1st place - $100 Visa gift card
  • 2nd place - $50 Visa gift card
3. Most money raised by a team (a team must consist of at least five individuals)
  • Overall team - $300 Visa gift card
