Gloves for Kids

On Monday, May 12, fans will have the chance to help provide baseball equipment to Kansas City's disadvantaged youth at the annual Gloves For Kids event presented by Royals broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre and Dick's Sporting Goods.

The event will be held at the Dick's Sporting Goods, located in the Town Center Plaza (11801 Nall Ave. in Leawood, Kan.) from 6-8 p.m.

A $20 donation will go directly to the purchasing of new baseball gloves and baseball equipment for area youth baseball players. Each fan that donates at least $20 will receive a $5 certificate for Dick's Sporting Goods.

Fans who participate will be allowed to have one autographed item by select Royals players during that session. One group of Royals players will sign from 6-7 p.m. and the other from 7-8 p.m. A $20 donation is required for each session. Royals mascot Sluggerrr will also be present at the event.

Created in 2001 by Lefebvre's Footprints Foundation, the Gloves For Kids event has raised more than $60,000 to provide new baseball gloves for Kansas City area youth.
