The mission of the organization is to address the needs of the community and enhance the quality of life for area citizens by supporting impactful programs that invest in children, education and neighborhoods. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Special Olympics of KC Metro.
Special Olympics KC Metro is a joint effort of the Missouri and Kansas chapters of Special Olympics. Combined, they serve more than 3,200 athletes in a ten-county region. They provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities by giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
