Royals FUNdamentals Youth Clinics

The Royals hosted a FUNdamentals Youth Clinic on the John Deere Little K prior to the Royals-Angels game on July 22. The 40-minute youth clinic was led by former Royals Willie Aikens and Jaime Bluma as well as Royals Hall of Famer John Mayberry.

Calling all kids ages 6-12! The Kansas City Royals are now offering Royals FUNdamentals Youth Clinics at the John Deere Little K in the Outfield Experience prior to five select upcoming Royals games. This is your chance to learn baseball skills from Royals legends before attending a game to cheer on the current Boys in Blue! At the Royals FUNdamentals Youth Clinics, learn how to pitch with Royals Hall of Fame Pitcher Dennis Leonard, hit with Royals Hall of Fame First Baseman John Mayberry and field with Royals Hall of Fame Outfielder Willie Wilson.*

Each youth clinic date will consist of one 40 minute session:: Session Time = 5:50 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Royals Hall of Fame pitcher Dennis Leonard, former outfielders Jim Eisenreich & Les Norman and Royals Hall of Fame outfielder Willie Wilson talk about fundamentals of baseball.

Clinic Dates:: Tuesday, July 21; Wednesday, July 22; Tuesday, August 4; Wednesday, August 5; Thursday, August 6

Royals FUNdamentals Youth Clinic packages include:: 40 minute instructional clinic with Royals alumni; Field Plaza game ticket (reg $26); Certificate of completion autographed by your alumni instructors; Admittance into a daily drawing for the opportunity to watch Royals batting practice on the field at The K prior to the Royals vs. Minnesota Twins game on Saturday, August 22 and four (4) tickets to attend the game; Opportunity to purchase additional family tickets in the Field Plaza seating section for $10

The Royals FUNdamentals package includes the clinic at the "Little K", one Field Plaza ticket for that evening's game, and autographed certificate of participation all for only $40. Family and friends can purchase additional Field Plaza tickets for just $10. If you already have game tickets, packages can also be purchased separately for $30 each by calling 816-504-4040., option 3.

*Alumni will rotate during the sessions and are subject to change. The names listed above are not necessarily the alumni that will participate in your session and are only used as an example of alumni instructors.

Frequently Asked Questions about Royals FUNdamentals Youth Clinics

Where is the John Deere Little K located? »: The John Deere Little K is located behind left field in the Outfield Experience area of Kauffman Stadium. The quickest access to the John Deere Little K is through Gate A on the west side of the stadium. You can also enter the Outfield Experience through Gate E on the east side of the stadium. Please have your game ticket scanned to enter the ballpark and keep your ticket for clinic check-in.
What do I do once I arrive at the John Deere Little K? »: Each Youth Clinic participant will need to check-in at the registration table. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled session to get checked-in.
What should I wear to Royals FUNdamentals Youth Clinics? »: Please wear comfortable athletic clothing like shorts and a T-shirt. Tennis shoes are required (no cleats please!).
What if it rains on my scheduled date? »: Every attempt is made to proceed with the youth clinics. Please expect all youth clinics to go on as scheduled as long as it is safe for everyone to participate.
What should I bring to the youth clinic? »: Don't forget to bring your baseball glove in order to participate in the instructional stations! Baseballs and bats will be provided. Exit and re-entry after the clinic for the Royals game will not be permitted so please keep that in mind when bringing items into the ballpark.
Will we be allowed to get autographs? »: Each clinic participant will receive a certificate of completion autographed by your alumni instructors.
