2008 Buck O'Neil Legacy Seat Contest
Buck O'Neil had an enormous impact on the world of baseball and the lives of the everyday people he touched. Buck spent many days and nights supporting the Royals from the same seat behind home plate at Kauffman Stadium, both as a scout and a fan. To honor Buck, the Buck O'Neil Legacy Seat contest fills "Buck's Seat" for every home game with a member of the community who, on a large or small scale, embodies an aspect of Buck's spirit.
Now, with the Buck O'Neil Legacy Seat in its second year, FSN Kansas City joins with the Royals to remember the impact of Buck O'Neil and to honor those who are so vital to our communities. In addition to being guests of the Royals at Kauffman Stadium, Buck Seat honorees will be featured during television broadcasts of home Royals games.
The Royals invite community members throughout the Midwest to nominate individuals -- with the form below -- they feel are worthy of filling "Buck's seat." Nominations should include a description in 100 words or less of why the nominee should be honored with the award as well as relevant contact information. See the 2007 winners »
