Which Players Should Make it to the Royals Hall of Fame this Year?

Royals Hall of Fame Voting Rules and Guidelines for Eligibility

Royals Hall of Fame Voting (Regular Phase) shall be completed every other year by a committee of 40 total electors consisting of the following: (1) All living members of the Royals Hall of Fame; (2) Select Royals Board members; (3) Select members of the Kansas City Chapter of the Baseball Writers of America; (4) Select Kansas City Electronic Media members; (5) Select members of Royals Front Office Staff; and (6) Royals Fans casting votes as a virtual committee member via social media from this page. Royals fans will collectively cast a total of three (3) elector ballots for three eligible candidates. Individual electors can vote for up to three players on their ballots. Fan votes will be allocated to three players as follows: the top vote getter from this online fan ballot will receive three (3) elector votes, the second highest vote-getter will receive two (2) elector votes, and the third highest vote-getter will receive one (1) elector vote. The KC Royals will monitor the online voting and determine the allocation of the three (3) fan elector ballots in their sole discretion.

If any eligible player(s) (see below) receive(s) votes on seventy-five percent (75%) of the 40 elector ballots, the Royals will make an announcement deeming such player(s) elected Royals Hall of Fame member(s) who will be scheduled for induction into the Royals Hall of Fame during the 2013 season. Candidates must appear on a minimum of ten percent (10%) (or at least 4) of the 40 elector ballots cast in 2013 to remain eligible for inclusion on the ballot for the next RHOF (Regular Phase) voting cycle. In odd-numbered years a separate Veterans Committee vote considers the candidacy of non-player personnel and players who have previously received votes but is no longer eligible in the regular phase voting.

Fans can cast their votes by clicking the buttons above to tell their friends, followers, and the Royals their picks or by tweeting in support of players eligible for the Royals Hall of Fame using the designated hashtags. Fan voting opens on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10 a.m. CT and closes Friday, March 29, 2013 at 12 p.m. CT. Only fan votes cast during that time will be counted. Please note that you will be leaving royals.com to vote and that you are responsible for understanding and complying with the posted terms of any third-party site you visit. There is no limit on how many times a fan can vote during the voting period for a favorite eligible player on Twitter.
