Robert's comments on the painting:
"This painting was an enjoyable challenge. I'm known for capturing athletes on canvas and do not, as a rule, paint many stadiums. I thought it would be fun to showcase the moment before the batter swings. The ball is on the way and anticipation is building. Also in the painting are many special details that make the piece unique to this event. For example: I knew I wanted to feature Willie Wilson, and I thought what better way than putting him on the CrownVision stealing a base? I took additional artistic license by adding the names of event sponsors on the backboards."

Prior to the Royals Hall of Fame Classic, the Royals partnered with Willie Wilson Baseball and TeamSmile to host a free dental health education, screening and treatment clinic at Kauffman Stadium. The clinic, which provided state of the art dentistry ranging from tooth-colored fillings to digital x-rays, was held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for children associated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. During the event, TeamSmile patients had access to the Outfield Plaza, including the Little K baseball field, interactive games, miniature golf and Kauffman Stadium's new carousel.
