Royals Charities Disaster Relief Efforts

The Kansas City Royals join their players in supporting those affected by recent natural disasters and pledged to various organizations including the American Red Cross & Heart to Heart International in support of relief efforts from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria and the devastating earthquake in Mexico. Royals players, coaches and broadcasters have been active in showing support for their home countries and cities, and encourage Royals fans to join in their relief efforts.

Royals Charities kicked off their disaster relief efforts with a $10,000 grant issued to the local chapter of the American Red Cross following the damage of Hurricane Harvey. Following the news of Hurricane Irma they added a $10,000 donation to Heart to Heart International for their Hygiene Kits that will be given to families affected by the Hurricane.

The Royals and Royals Charities dedicated the Twins series (September 7-10) to collecting funds in stadium for Disaster Relief, raising over $46,000.

  • Red Cross Volunteers collected monetary donations at the stadium gates and the Royals Charities
  • Half of the Saturday, September 9 50/50 Pot was donated to the American Red Cross for their Hurricane Disaster Relief.

Royals Catcher, Drew Butera asked that his cash award of $7,500 from his being honored as the Royals' Robert Clemente Award nominee be donated to Royals Charities hurricane disaster relief efforts.

Royals Charities made an additional $20,000 donation to Heat to Heart International to help send medicines and medical supplies to assist with relief efforts following the earthquake in Mexico City and Hurricane damage in Puerto Rico
