Dan Glass, President

Dan Glass enters his 10th season as President of the Kansas City Royals and oversees all aspects of the Royals organization. Glass also serves on the Royals Charities Board of Directors and on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Crime Commission.

Glass previously worked in the Royals Baseball Operations Department from 1993-98. He joined the club as the Baseball Operations Assistant before being named Assistant Director of Player Personnel in 1996, where he assisted with the day-to-day operations of the Major League club and the Player Development and Scouting Departments.

In addition, Glass was responsible for the coordination and development of the Royals Latin America program. Under his guidance a comprehensive program to enhance the Latin America program was implemented, specifically including lengthening the playing season in the Dominican Republic from four months to 10, adding scouts and instructors in the Dominican Republic and Venezuela and upgrading the facilities in the Dominican Republic. He also initiated classes for Spanish speaking players, teaching them English and how to adapt to American culture.

Prior to joining the Royals, he spent six years as an owner in the jewelry retail business and worked in Glass Enterprises focusing on real estate development projects.

He attended Missouri State University and graduated from Drury College with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Before entering college, Dan worked in management for five years with Wal-Mart in Fayetteville, Ark., and as an Assistant Manager in Tahlequah, Okla., Tulsa, Okla., and Carbondale, Ill.

Dan resides in Olathe, Kan., with his wife, Penny. The couple has a son, Dayne, and a daughter, Danielle.
