Julia Irene Kauffman, Board of Directors

Julia Irene Kauffman is Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation.

Prior to assuming the office of Chairman with the Foundation, Julia worked for the Kansas City Royals Baseball Club as Director of Civic and Community Relations. She has been a member of the Royal Lancers organization since 1977, was elected to the Lancer Board of Directors in May 1998, and was Lancer President in 1999.

Julia currently is Chairman of the Board of the Kansas City Ballet, a member of the Kansas City Symphony Foundation Board of Directors and the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and the Heart of America Council/Boy Scouts of America Executive Board. Julia is also Chairman of the Board of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, guiding efforts for the construction of a new Performing Arts Center in Kansas City. Julia resides in Mission Hills, Kan. She has three daughters, two granddaughters and one grandson.
