The Royals invite fans to Kauffman Stadium on Saturday, July 6 for a Kansas City Athletics salute in conjunction with the Royals-A's game at 1:10 p.m. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Charlie O T-Shirt courtesy of FOX Sports Kansas City. The Royals will salute the Kansas City A's by recognizing several former Kansas City A's players during a special pre-game ceremony. In salute to Charlie O, the famous Missouri mule which Finley anointed as the team mascot while in Kansas City, fans will have an opportunity to take their photo with a Missouri mule outfitted with Charlie O's original blanket behind Rivals Sports Bar.

Preview of July 6 KC A's video retrospective

The festivities will also include a Kansas City A's video retrospective, which chronicles the history of the franchise while in Kansas City and features many of the revolutionary, and sometimes controversial, ideas introduced by late owner Charlie Finley.
