Salute to the Negro Leagues-May 30

Celebrate with the Kansas City Royals as we pay tribute to the Negro Leagues on Saturday, July 31. A tailgate party* courtesy of Hy-Vee & Pepsi in which all proceeds benefit the Negro Leagues Baseball museum begins at 3:00 p.m. in the Outfield Experience BBQ area just beyond right field inside the gates** at Kauffman Stadium. Fans are invited to visit with former Negro Leagues players during an autograph session from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Farmland/Wonder hot dogs and Pepsi product drinks will be available to purchase for $1. Plus, the first 20,000 fans through the gates will receive a Monarchs Cap courtesy of Pepsi.

On the field, both teams will don Negro Leagues uniforms provided by Sprint with the Royals wearing the 1949 Kansas City Monarchs home uniforms and the Orioles wearing the Baltimore Elite Giants road uniforms from the early 1950s. Following the game, the game-worn uniforms will be donated to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
