Kansas City Baseball's Goodwill Ambassadors
The game of baseball inspires a passion and loyalty like few other endeavors. Since 1968 - before the Royals ever took the field - the
Royal Lancers have always embodied both for the ballclub and Kansas City fans.
In fact that was the mission Royals founder Ewing Kauffman set for the Lancers from the very beginning. He set out to establish a group of business professionals who shared a love for the game and for the community who could serve as Kansas City Baseball's Goodwill Ambassadors.
The idea was simple but unique in professional sports and the Lancers were a key part of the Royals early success. Through the efforts of the first Lancers the Royals set a then American League record for Season Ticket Sales before the team played its first game in 1969.
Over the years their most visible impact came from their role as a Season Ticket Sales Force for the club. However their spirit for service has allowed them to make a difference in many other areas for the Royals and the greater Kansas City community.
The Royal Lancer Organization continues to contribute to the success of the ballclub to this day. True to their founding mission each Lancer still carries the same passion, loyalty and love for the game that has always made them Kansas City Baseball's Goodwill Ambassadors.
