123Stassi, MaxYuba City HS (CA)CR/R5'10"2051991-03-15HS
Comments: It's a good year for prep catchers in Northern California and Stassi is one of the best in that crop. Scouts like his overall package of hitting ability, defensive ability, makeup and baseball instincts. There once was talk of moving him to an infield spot, but he profiles as natural leader behind the plate who could be one of the first catchers taken on Draft day.

183Ortiz, RyanOregon St UCR/R6'03"2051987-09-29JR
Comments: College catching is always a hot commodity every Draft and while Ortiz may not "wow" you, he's the kind of decent backstop who should go well on Draft Day. His tools grade out as OK across the board, from his hittability to his responsibilities behind the plate. He may not seem like someone all that special, but a solid-average advanced college catcher usually doesn't have to wait long to hear his name called.
