This Day in Baseball History:
October 7, 1904 > "Happy" Jack Chesbro pitches the New York Highlanders to a 3-2 victory over the Boston Pilgrims for his 41st victory of the season. Although the mark remains an American League record, Chesbro's season ends on a sour note when his wild pitch costs the Highlanders the pennant on the final day of the season.
