White Sox at the plate: Pablo Ozuna tripled to lead off the game and scored on Juan Uribe's single. Brian Anderson hit a RBI double in the second, and Ozuna and Uribe each added RBI singles. Uribe provided a go-ahead run in the ninth, hitting a two-out solo homer. After Joe Crede doubled in the 10th, Carlos Quentin hit a one-out RBI single to score pinch-runner Oney Guillen, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen's son. Paul Phillips added an RBI double.

Cubs at the plate: Derrek Lee had two hits, including a triple. Geovany Soto hit a two-run double with two outs in the sixth, and scored on Felix Pie's single to tie the game at 4. The Cubs tied the game at 8 in the 10th, aided by an error by right fielder Jermaine Dye, who misplayed Matt Murton's ball. Two runs scored on the play. Kosuke Fukudome had three hits.

White Sox on the mound: Javier Vazquez struck out six and was charged with four runs on six hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings. Closer Bobby Jenks gave up one hit, one walk and struck out one in one inning.

Cubs on the mound: Ted Lilly, who will start the second game of the regular season, gave up four runs, seven hits and two walks over six innings, striking out three. Kerry Wood struck out two of the three batters he faced, and got a standing ovation from the Cubs fans in the sellout crowd of 12,859 at HoHoKam Park. Scott Eyre allowed three runs in the 10th inning.

Up next for the Cubs: Jason Marquis and Greg Maddux will meet for the second time this spring on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. CT. Marquis is slated to make his fifth start when the Cubs travel to Peoria, Ariz., to face the Padres. Marquis is 1-0 with a 2.35 ERA so far. He's given up three earned runs on 14 hits and six walks over 14 innings. The Padres will counter with Maddux. Marquis and Maddux pitched together on Atlanta's staff.

Up next for the White Sox: The South Siders play host to the Royals on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. CT. John Danks is slated to make his fifth start this spring. In 14 1/3 innings, Danks has given up six earned runs on 12 hits and four walks. The game will be broadcast on MLB.TV and WGN.
