Royals being careful with DeJesus
Kansas City outfielder dealing with sprained right ankle
SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Center fielder David DeJesus still is out of the Royals' lineup with a slight sprain of his right ankle.
DeJesus was ruled out of the last two games in Arizona. The Royals break camp on Thursday, and they will play exhibition games at Milwaukee on Friday night and Saturday.
"I'll be careful," manager Trey Hillman said. "I'm not worried about his conditioning level as much as the strength of the ankle, and he said he's a lot better today."
DeJesus was injured breaking out of the batter's box in Monday night's game against the Dodgers.
He's batting .333 (16-for-48) this spring and has six RBIs.
"I'd like to see some more at-bats and see some timing and rhythm, but we'll see if his body is comfortable with doing that once we get to Milwaukee," Hillman said.
