Thursday, March 27
Rockies at the plate: Troy Tulowitzki knocked his sixth home run -- the most during Cactus League play for a Rockies player since Todd Helton parked that many in 2004 -- and Garrett Atkins stroked his first homer, a two-run shot.
Angels at the plate: Reggie Willits had a single and a steal, and Jeff Mathis doubled and tripled.
Rockies on the mound: Right-hander Kip Wells, who will begin the season in the bullpen, gave up one run in three innings, with two strikeouts and no walks.
Angels on the mound: Right-hander Nick Green, a Texas League All-Star at Double-A Arkansas last season, went five innings and gave up four hits and three runs -- all on the Tulowitzki and Atkins homers.
Cactus League records: Rockies 13-12, Angels 18-9.
Up next for the Rockies: Left-hander Micah Bowie will try to cap his impressive Spring Training on Friday night when he starts against the D-backs in an exhibition game at Chase Field.
Up next for the Angels: Lefty Joe Saunders will start against the Padres at PETCO Park in an exhibition contest on Friday.
