Royals GM says no deals cooking
Moore believes nothing imminent just before Trade Deadline
OAKLAND -- With less than 48 hours to go to the Trade Deadline, Royals general manager Dayton Moore said the club has no deals imminent.
"I don't see anything right now," he said late Tuesday afternoon from Kansas City.
"We're sifting through different scenarios but there's nothing we're motivated to do right now."
Meantime, there were reports that the Blue Jays were interested in catcher Miguel Olivo and the Red Sox might take a run at reliever Ron Mahay. Olivo, Mahay and second baseman Mark Grudzielanek have been considered among the more marketable players on the Royals.
"There's nothing right now that I see us doing," Moore said. "We'll see what the next 48 hours holds."
