Pimentel has elbow ligament issue
Royals reliever will seek second opinion regarding surgery
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Pitcher Julio Pimentel's MRI showed a ligament problem in his right elbow, according to Royals manager Trey Hillman.
Pimentel is seeking a second opinion to see if surgery might be necessary. He came off the mound after throwing a fastball during Friday's game against Texas.
Right-hander Henry Barrera, who has a tender elbow and has not pitched since March 1, is continuing to work on a throwing program.
