Shortstop Pena undergoes surgery

Repairs injured left hand; expected to miss 4-6 weeks

KANSAS CITY -- Shortstop Tony Pena underwent successful surgery on Tuesday for a fractured left hamate bone, the Royals said.

Pena injured his hand last Saturday at Minnesota while swinging a bat and was placed on the 15-day disabled list. He's expected to miss from four to six weeks.
