O's Jones expected to return Tuesday
Outfielder likely back from hamstring strain to face Yanks
KANSAS CITY -- The Orioles expect to have center fielder Adam Jones back in the lineup Tuesday night when they open a three-game series at Yankee Stadium.
Jones suffered a mild right hamstring strain on Wednesday, one day after the first two-homer game of his career. Jones spoke with manager Dave Trembley on Saturday night.
"Jones is fine," Trembley said. "We're looking forward to having him back in the lineup."
Trembley said Jones probably could have played on Sunday and was available off the bench. With an off-day looming on Monday, Jones figures to be full-go against the Yankees on Tuesday.
"We'll give him another day and wait until he gets to New York," Trembley said. "It gives [Felix] Pie an opportunity to play on a back-to-back basis."
Jones was hitting .370 with eight homers in 127 at-bats when he suffered the hamstring strain.
