Stoneman to represent Halos at Draft
Former general manager heading to MLB Network
ANAHEIM -- Former Angels general manager Bill Stoneman, now a senior advisor for the club, will represent the Halos at the First-Year Player Draft on June 9 at MLB Network Studios.Stoneman was the club's GM for eight years before turning the reins over to Tony Reagins after the 2007 season. His tenure was the longest and most successful in club history, as the Angels captured a World Series championship in 2002, the franchise's first AL West crown in 18 years in 2004, the club's first back-to-back titles (2004-05) and another division championship in 2007. Because they lost closer Francisco Rodriguez to the Mets and first baseman Mark Teixeira to the Yankees, the Angels will pick twice in the first round, selecting at Nos. 24 and 25.
