Royals to recognize troops Saturday

American Forces Network to televise game along with FOX

KANSAS CITY -- The Royals are recognizing local troops serving abroad with a special broadcast of Saturday's game against the A's.

U.S. troops around the world will be able to watch FOX Sports Kansas City's Saturday broadcast live on the American Forces Network.

Meanwhile, FSKC will show a live satellite link of the Missouri National Guard Agri-Business Development team, which is currently deployed in Jalalabad, Afghanistan.

FSKC's "This One's For You" broadcast runs in combination with the annual "Salute to Uniformed Heroes" at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday.

Announcers Ryan Lefebvre and Frank White will call the play-by-play, while Joel Goldberg and Paul Splittorff will host the "Royals Live" pregame and postgame shows.

The broadcast will also include taped greetings from Royals players, interviews with deployed troops and greetings from the troops' families.

The Missouri National guard has approximately 11,500 citizen-soldiers in 60 communities across the state, and there are currently 800 soldiers and airmen serving mission in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo.
