Royals name Webster scout supervisor

Former big league outfielder to oversee Midwest for KC

KANSAS CITY -- Mitch Webster, a Major League outfielder for 13 years, has been named Midwest regional scouting supervisor by the Royals.

Webster was in the Dodgers' organization for the past 14 years, including eight seasons as an amateur scout, as well as a pro scout in 2008-09. He also coached for four years in the Minors. Originally from Larned, Kan., Webster and wife, Jennifer, now live in Kansas City.

In his big league career from 1983-95, Webster played for the Blue Jays, Expos, Cubs, Indians, Pirates and Dodgers, with a .263 career average.
