BALTIMORE -- Shortstop Alexei Ramirez was back in the White Sox lineup Tuesday night after partially tearing the fingernail off his right pinky finger during Monday's 4-3 loss.
The game was delayed for several minutes while Ramirez was treated for the injury, which occurred while trying to barehand a slow grounder.
The finger remained wrapped up in the locker room before Tuesday's game and Ramirez was ready to try again.
"If I would say it's not hurting me, I'd be lying," he said through an interpreter.
White Sox manager Robin Ventura said the biggest problem might be swinging a bat, which could bring the shortstop some pain.
"Every once in a while it will bite him a little," Ventura said."He can throw. It may [bother him more] hitting. I think the more he does it, we'll find out for sure."
Worth noting
White Sox manager Robin Ventura said that Francisco Liriano, Monday's starter, is fine after leg cramps bothered him during the 4-3 loss. Liriano said after the game he wasn't too worried, and on Tuesday everything felt good.
The White Sox have a 24-11 record this season in games in which Adam Dunn hits a home run. He's got 38 so far this season, leading the Major Leagues.
White Sox pitchers walked seven in Monday's loss, the third time in eight games the staff gave up at least seven free passes.
Paul Konerko needs eight RBIs to reach 1,300 for his career.
