The St. Louis Cardinals announced following today’s game with the Marlins that they have optioned right-handed pitcher Keith Butler and infielder Ryan Jackson to Memphis (AAA).

The team also re-assigned non-roster left-handed pitcher John Gast to minor league camp, reducing the number of players on the Major League spring roster to 40.
