Royals celebrate July 4th holiday at the K
The Royals return for an All-American three-game set against Minnesota
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

KANSAS CITY -- The Kansas City Royals return to Kauffman Stadium on Monday, July 3 to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday. The Royals open the final homestand of the first half with three games against the Minnesota Twins, July 3-5.

Monday, July 3 -- Minnesota Twins vs. Royals at 7:10 p.m.
Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular Show

John Hancock Champions on Ice Tour featuring Two-Time Olympic Medalist Michelle Kwan The Royals are kicking off the Fourth of July festivities a day early at Kauffman Stadium with a Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular Show immediately following Monday?s game.

Before the fireworks light up the sky, fans will be treated to a special appearance from the skaters of The John Hancock Champions on Ice Tour. Two-time Olympic Medalist and 5-time World Champion Michelle Kwan, 2006 Olympic Skaters Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek, 2006 Olympic Silver Medalists Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, 2006 Olympic Silver Medalist Stephane Lambiel and 1996 US Champion Rudy Galindo will be on field for the pre-game ceremony as well as take part in a special autograph signing at Gate B during the second inning of the Twins-Royals game. Belbin will be throwing out the Ceremonial First Pitch. The superstar skaters will take their tour to the ice at Kemper Arena on Friday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m.

An All-American Holiday!
Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular Show

With Kauffman Stadium as the backdrop, service men and women from Whiteman AFB will honor America with a special pre-game salute that includes a giant 100 x 50 foot flag in center field. Representing the US Army, Sgt. Shaun Coker from Fort Leavenworth, Kan., will perform the National Anthem, as well as God Bless America during the game. Representing the over 2.4 million members of the VFW and our servicemen and women on this special day will be United States Air Force veteran David Prohaska will toss the Ceremonial First Pitch.

The Royals will end the All-American evening with another Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular Show that fans won?t want to miss!

Wednesday, July 5 -- Minnesota Twins vs. Royals at 7:10 p.m.
Royals Host Dream Factory Child

The Royals will grant the wish of a Dream Factory child at Wednesday?s game. The child, who faces a life-altering illness, along with his/her family, will meet Royals players in the dugout, watch batting practice before the gates open, and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience will appear on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast in the "Dream Factory" segment.

AT&T Perfect Attendance Day.
The Royals team up with AT&T for the 11th annual Perfect Attendance Program, which rewards more than 6,000 area students from grades Kindergarten through sixth grade who had perfect attendance throughout the 2005-2006 school year. To celebrate their dedication to education, each child received two tickets to the game. In addition, all students receiving the honor are recognized in the third edition of the Royals Gameday Magazine available at Kauffman Stadium or by phone at 1-800-6-ROYALS for just $5!

This season, the Perfect Attendance program spanned four states - Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska - and had a record 331 schools participate, surpassing the 242 schools that participated in 2004. This year?s program saw a 1,247-student increase from the record number last year. In the past six years, nearly 28,000 students have been recognized by the Royals for their perfect attendance.
