KANSAS CITY -- The Kansas City Royals have announced several moves today as it pertains to their 40-man Major League roster.

Right-handed pitchers Roman Colon, Luke Hudson and Joe Nelson as well as infielders Angel Sanchez and Ryan Shealy were reinstated from the 60-day disabled list.

In addition, it was announced that left-handed pitcher Danny Christensen was sent to the Detroit Tigers as the player to be named in the July 13, 2007 trade that sent pitcher Roman Colon to the Royals. Christensen, 24, was 3-15 with a 6.21 ERA in 27 games (24 starts) for Class AA Wichita in 2007.

The Royals also designated Joe Nelson for assignment. Nelson, 33, missed the entire 2007 season after undergoing right shoulder surgery in March. He was 1-1 with nine saves and a 4.43 ERA 43 appearances with the Royals in 2006.

With the addition of Colon, Hudson, Sanchez and Shealy and the departure of Christensen and Nelson, the Royals 40-man roster now stands at 40.
