Royals Finish Home Schedule Against Red Sox, Twins
Fan Appreciation Weekend features George Brett figurine on September 26

The Kansas City Royals will complete their 2009 home schedule with games against the Boston Red Sox (September 21-24) and Minnesota Twins (September 25-27). Please note that Gates A and E at Kauffman Stadium will open at 4:00 p.m. on September 24 for Girls' Night Out. All other gates will open at 5:30 p.m. DRI-DUCK Fountain Seats will go on sale at 4:00 p.m. at Gate E on Thursday.

Monday, September 21 - Boston Red Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m. - Series presented by Sprint
Events:


• Third Annual Halfway to St. Paddy's Day: The special Halfway to St. Paddy's Day pre-game party begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Outfield Experience. The festivities will feature a performance by local Irish band The Elders, traditional Irish food and green beverages, and authentic Irish vendors courtesy of KC Irish Fest. An alumni autograph session featuring Royals Hall of Famer Dennis Leonard along with former Royals Al Fitzmorris, Greg Pryor and Jerry Terrell will take place near the All-Star BBQ area from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m.
• Guillen's Gamers (September 21-27): For 68 home games this season, outfielder Jose Guillen will host children in the "Guillen's Gamers" section, giving them the opportunity to experience the thrill of Major League Baseball.

Tuesday, September 22 - Boston Red Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m. - Series presented by Sprint

• T-Shirt Tuesday (illustration attached in e-mail): First 20,000 fans, presented by Sprint.
Events:
• Royals Community Booth - Humane Society of Greater Kansas City: The Royals host the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City in the Royals Community Booth across from the Royals Hall of Fame. The group will distribute information about pet care as well as provide an opportunity for pet adoption.

Wednesday, September 23 - Boston Red Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m. - Series presented by Sprint

• Independence Honda Buck Night: Hot dogs, small Pepsis, peanuts and Royals Gameday Magazines are just $1 each, all night long!
• Ink College Night Happy Hour: Come out to "The K" for Ink College Night! On Wednesday, the Royals offer $7 Outfield Box or Field Plaza tickets for high school and college students with a valid ID shown at the Box Office. Food and beverage specials are available at Outfield Experience concession areas.

Events:
• John Buck's BUCKAROOS: Catcher John Buck hosts children from the State of Missouri Children's Division in the "BUCKAROOS" section. The children will receive complimentary tickets, food coupons and special "BUCKAROOS" T-shirts. Buck will also have a meet and greet with the kids prior to the game.
• Dream Factory: Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wish of a Dream Factory child. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV 10 p.m. newscast.
• Royals Concourse Auction: The Royals will host a silent auction with items from the Royals in the Outfield Experience between Rivals Sports Bar and the All-Star BBQ. The silent auction, benefiting Royals Charities, will be held from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Thursday, September 24 - Boston Red Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m. - Series presented by Sprint

• Girls' Night Out Royals T-Shirt (illustration attached in e-mail): First 10,000 ladies. Presented by Hy-Vee and KC Masterpiece.
Events:
• Girls' Night Out to benefit American Heart Association: The Royals host the second Girls' Night Out of 2009 in the Outfield Experience. The event, which focuses on "Food, Fashion and Fun," is presented by Hy-Vee and features a special happy hour from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Holly Starr of KMCI-TV, 38 The Spot will emcee Girls' Night Out, which will include a fall fashion show presented by Macy's, a Q&A with Royals players, Bravo TV's Top Chef: Season 4 finalist Richard Blais, mini spa services, and more. Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign. The event is co-sponsored by Macy's, KMCI-TV, 38 The Spot, 98.1-KUDL and 99.7-KISS FM. • Girls' Night Out Concourse Auction: The Royals will host a silent auction with items from the Royals as well as unique Girls' Night Out items in the Outfield Experience. The silent auction will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will benefit the American Heart Association and Royals Charities.
• Royals Coat Drive (September 24-25): The Royals host the sixth annual Royals Coat Drive to benefit the Johnson County Christmas Bureau. The drive is co-chaired by third baseman Alex Gordon and his wife, Jamie. Royals' wives and volunteers will collect new and gently used coats on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Fans can drop off donated items in the Outfield Experience or outside of Gate B of Kauffman Stadium on both days.
• Royals Community Booth - Wayside Waifs: The Royals host Wayside Waifs in the Royals Community Booth behind section 232 on the Plaza Concourse. Wayside Waifs is a charitable animal shelter whose purpose is to place adoptable companion animals in responsible homes.

Friday, September 25 - Minnesota Twins vs. Kansas City Royals, 7:10 p.m.
Promotions:

• Hy-Vee/Pepsi Fireworks Friday: Fans get treated to a fireworks spectacular courtesy of Hy-Vee and Pepsi following the Royals contest with the Minnesota Twins.
• Bob Evans Bases Loaded 4-Pack: Fans can score big with the Bob Evans Bases Loaded 4-Pack. Get four (4) View Level Infield tickets and $10 of loaded value per ticket for concessions and merchandise - over a $100 value - all for just $60! Events:
• Minor League Award Winners Visit Ronald McDonald House: The 16 Royals Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Year award winners will visit the Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. where they will assemble packages for sick children and their families as part of the "There's a Monkey in My Chair" program. Royals Charities donated $5,000 to purchase and distribute the packages to ill children that are used at the child's school in their absence. Following the assembly, the group will visit children at Children's Mercy Hospital from 10:15-11:15 a.m. (Open to the media from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.). Later that afternoon, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m., the group will tour the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
• Futures' Night: The Royals will salute the Pitchers and Players of the Year from each minor league affiliate. The prospects will participate in an autograph session from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. near Gate A in the Outfield Experience. A special Q&A session will follow.

Saturday, September 26 - Minnesota Twins vs. Kansas City Royals, 6:10 p.m.
Promotions:

• George Brett Hall of Fame figurine (photo attached in e-mail): Part four of a four-piece collectible set. First 20,000 fans.
• Fan Appreciation Weekend: The Royals salute the fans with great prizes, which will be awarded randomly to ticket holders. The prizes include: free limeades for a year from Sonic, free custard for a year from Sheridan's Frozen Custard, two roundtrip tickets on Midwest Airlines, a Palm Pre phone from Sprint, a Budweiser neon sign, an XBOX 360 from MLB2K9, four $50 gift cards from Topsy's, a $100 gift certificate from Hy-Vee, a $50 online gift certificate from MLB.com and a Royals 4x8 Legacy Brick.

Sunday, September 27 - Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 1:10 p.m.

• Trevor's Troopers: Royals Director-Groundskeeping and Landscaping Trevor Vance will host select children who have a parent deployed through the United States military efforts overseas to join the Royals Grounds Crew as part of the Trevor's Troopers program. The honored kids will help prepare the field through such tasks as raking, watering and placing the bases prior to the Royals game. The children receive Royals merchandise as well as game tickets.
