Sunday, March 23 Royals at the plate: Ryan Shealy launched his fourth home run of the spring, a drive to left-center field with one out in the second. Damon Hollins knocked out three hits and drove in three, giving him 15 RBIs this spring. White Sox at the plate: Jerry Owens has now hit safely in nine of 10 Cactus League contests, following a leadoff triple against Zack Greinke on Sunday. Owens scored on Orlando Cabrera's RBI grounder. Carlos Quentin added his first home run in going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Brian Anderson also launched a home run. Royals on the mound: Greinke seems to turn in some of his best work against the White Sox, and Sunday was no exception. The right-hander allowed just four hits over six innings, striking out six and walking one. White Sox on the mound: John Danks struggled with fastball location out of the stretch, allowing five runs on six hits over 4 1/3 innings. Danks struck out three and walked four. Ehren Wassermann pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief. Cactus League records: Royals 13-11; White Sox 9-15-3. Up next for the Royals: Left-hander Jorge De La Rosa, bidding for a rotation spot, will get his last chance in Arizona to win a job when he starts on Monday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Surprise Stadium. The game, televised on MLB.TV, will start at 8:05 p.m. CT. The Dodgers will start Hiroki Kuroda, a Japanese right-hander the Royals vied for in the free-agent market.
Up next for the White Sox: Jose Contreras makes his final Cactus League trip to the mound during the White Sox final game of 2008 Spring Training outside of the Tucson area. Jim Thome will make the trip to Peoria on Monday afternoon, facing off against southpaw Jarrod Washburn and the Mariners.
