Pena's new look the right prescription
Shortstop wearing glasses instead of blurry contacts
By Dick Kaegel / MLB.com
After a vision test, doctors suggested that he try contact lenses during Spring Training. He did but the contacts tended to cause blurring in one eye so he switched to a pair of prescription Oakleys.
"I thought I was doing pretty well without these," said Pena, who hit better than expected last season, finishing at .267.
With his corrected vision this year, he's batting .160.
"I guess I'm not used to seeing the ball this good," he said, tongue in cheek.
