No timetable for Butler's Royal return

Slugger hitting well since demotion to Triple-A Omaha

KANSAS CITY - Billy Butler still is going strong for Triple-A Omaha, but there still is no timetable for his return to the Royals.

"I expect him to be up here at some point in time, but we've just got to massage through it," general manager Dayton Moore said on Tuesday.

"He's continuing to play well at Triple-A, which we fully expected him to do. Ultimately, it's my job to figure out when the time is right and create an opportunity for him on the team."

Butler was batting .263 with just one home run and 18 RBIs in 53 games with the Royals when he was optioned to Omaha on May 29.

For Omaha, through Monday, he was hitting .351 (34-for-97) with five homers, a triple, six doubles and 13 RBIs in 25 games. He had 13 walks with only six strikeouts.

"He's swinging the bat well, playing a lot of first base and doing fine -- we'll just have to see how it plays out," Moore said.
