Moustakas OK after exiting with groin tightness

Third baseman expects to play Monday against the Tigers

CLEVELAND -- Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas was taken out of Sunday's game against the Indians in the sixth inning because of tightness in his left groin.

Moustakas had batted twice and was hitless. He was replaced at third base by Tony Abreu, who switched from second base. Johnny Giavotella took over at second.

Moustakas joins two other infield regulars on the injury list. First baseman Eric Hosmer and shortstop Alcides Escobar have been sitting out this series because of shoulder ailments.

Manager Ned Yost said that Moustakas is OK.

"He's fine," Yost said. "If it wasn't, 11-0, at the time, he'd still be in the game.

Moustakas said he expected to play on Monday night against the Tigers.
