Urbina, who last pitched in the Majors in 2005, was involved in a violent incident on his Venezuelan property in November of that same year and later convicted in 2007.
The 38-year-old right-hander racked up 237 saves over his 11-year career, including a National League-best 41 with the Expos in 1999. He also made two All-Star appearances, one with the Expos in 1998 and the other coming in 2002 with the Red Sox.
His Major League resume also includes a World Series ring, which he earned with the Marlins in 2003. Urbina earned four saves in the Marlins' title run, including two against the Yankees in the World Series.
For his career, Urbina went 44-49 with a 3.45 ERA while playing for the Expos, Red Sox, Rangers, Marlins, Tigers and Phillies from 1995-2005.
