LP: Michael Mariot (1-2)
Omaha lost the series opener as New Orleans plated a pair in the eighth. LSU product Ryan Verdugo left in line for the win, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. Christian Colon was 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run single. The 2010 first-round pick is batting .429 (15-for-35) with 10 runs over his last 10 games. Paulo Orlando added two hits and an RBI.
NW Arkansas Naturals (14-31)
Corpus Christi 2, Northwest Arkansas 0
LP: Jason Adam (0-6)
Northwest Arkansas lost a second straight at Corpus Christi. Matt Fields gave the Naturals an early 1-0 lead with his team-leading 11th homer. Roman Hernandez and Rey Navarro were both 3-for-4. Hernandez recorded a triple and a run while Navarro homered in the ninth. Brooks Pounders allowed a season-high six runs on eight hits over 4.0 IP+2.
Wilmington Blue Rocks (22-24)
The Blue Rocks were off on Friday. They play a doubleheader at Myrtle Beach (Rangers) on Saturday.
Lexington Legends (24-24)
Hagerstown 6, Lexington 0
LP: Aroni Nina (1-3)
Lexington has yet to score in two games at Hagerstown. The Suns broke open a 1-0 game with a five-run fifth. Legends starter Aroni Nina yielded five runs on four hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. Kenny Diekroeger, Mark Donato and Adalberto Mondesi posted singles for Lexington.
