Omaha Storm Chasers (55-57)
Omaha 8, Tacoma 0
WP: Chris Dwyer (8-8)
The Chasers moved to 2-0 at Tacoma, receiving six shutout innings from Dwyer for a second straight night. Dwyer worked around two hits and five walks, lowering his ERA to 3.29. Former Mariner Ben Broussard recorded three hits, two runs and an RBI. Brian Fletcher added three hits, an RBI and a walk. Fletcher is 5-for-11 with three RBIs in three games since joining Omaha.
NW Arkansas Naturals (21-19 second half, 46-64 overall)
Arkansas 5, NW Arkansas 0
LP: Brooks Pounders (4-7)
The Naturals were swept in a three-game series at Arkansas. Lane Adams, Jorge Bonifacio and Brett Eibner posted singles for NW Arkansas. Pounders allowed five runs, five hits and four walks over six-plus innings. The Naturals are home tonight against Tulsa (Rockies).
Wilmington Blue Rocks (16-22 second half, 49-59 overall)
The Blue Rocks were off on Wednesday. They play at Winston-Salem (White Sox) on Thursday night.
Lexington Legends (24-15 second half, 57-50 overall)
Kannapolis 3, Lexington 2
LP: Matt Murray (1-2)
Lexington plated a pair in the seventh, only to lose after Kannapolis scored three runs in the eighth. The loss overshadowed a terrific start by Miguel Almonte, who held the Intimidators to a single and a hit batter over six scoreless innings. Mark Threlkeld doubled home a run and scored on a wild pitch. Terrance Gore stole his 60th base and is one behind league leader Micah Johnson, who was promoted.
Idaho Falls Chukars (0-1 second half, 19-20 overall)
Orem 9, Idaho Falls 3
LP: Tyler Mack (3-3)
Idaho Falls lost the second-half opener as Orem used a grand slam to build a 5-0 lead in the second. Humberto Arteaga recorded two hits and an RBI. Alexis Rivera added two singles and a run.
Burlington Royals (18-21)
Greeneville 3, Burlington 1
LP: Andres Machado (0-5)
HR: Chris Sweeney (1)
Burlington dropped the rubber game at Greeneville. Sweeney hit his first professional home run in the eighth. He was signed last month as a non-drafted free agent out of King's College. Tyler Chism tied the league's longest hitting streak of 2013 at 16 games. Luis Villegas added two hits in two at-bats.
Surprise Royals (3-2 second half, 13-20 overall)
Arizona Padres 10, Surprise 3
LP: Dylan Sons (0-4)
Surprise lost at home as the Padres plated the final eight runs. Wander Franco was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Cristian Cano, Samir Duenez and Brawlun Gomez added singles.
