Omaha won the opener at Sacramento behind a strong start from Ryan Verdugo. The lefty struck out six while allowing just one hit and one walk over 6.0 innings. Casey Coleman (1.0 IP, 1 H) and Spencer Patton (2.0 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 3 SO) completed the shutout. Paulo Orlando led off the game with a double and scored Omaha's first run. Justin Maxwell doubled to begin the fourth, later scoring the second tally.

The Naturals won a pair of games at Arkansas. Micah Gibbs drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning of the first contest, which was scheduled for seven stanzas. Jason Adam picked up the win, working around a pair of runs in the first. The eighth-ranked Royals prospect went 7.0 innings, striking out six while scattering five hits and a walk. Max Ramirez recorded four hits and an RBI. Cody Fassold (3.0 IP, 3 H), Ali Williams (2.0 IP), and Scott Alexander (2.0 IP) combined on a shutout in game two. 19th-ranked Royals prospect Cheslor Cuthbert delivered a two-run single in the third.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (30-32)

Wilmington at Winston-Salem - Postponed due to rain

Wilmington's opener at Winston-Salem was postponed. A doubleheader is scheduled for tonight. Fifth-ranked Royals prospect Miguel Almonte (4-2) will start the opener, with Jonathan Dziedzic (5-4) scheduled for the nightcap.

Lexington Legends (27-37)

Lexington 12, Asheville 1

Lexington scored in every inning from the third to the seventh in a rout of Asheville. Ramon Torres hit a three-run homer and finished 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. He's third in the league with a .338 average. Mauricio Ramos doubled twice, finishing with three hits, two RBI and two runs. Dex Kjerstad was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run. Alfredo Escalera added three hits and two runs. Jake Junis (5.0 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 SO) improved to 6-1 over his last eight starts. Andrew Edwards and Kevin Perez tossed 2.0 scoreless innings apiece. Edwards fanned five, with Perez striking out three.
