Omaha Storm Chasers (46-44)

WP: Clay Mortensen (4-0)
HR: Matt Fields (14, 15), Whit Merrifield (1 with Omaha, 6 overall)
With a two home run, five RBI performance, Matt Fields led Omaha to the win. He hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the fourth inning, and hit a three-run shot in the sixth. Whit Merrifield hit a leadoff shot, his first homer with Omaha. Johnny Giavotella added two hits and two runs. Clay Mortensen (6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO) improved to 4-0 with a 1.64 ERA. Tim Collins tossed a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one walk while striking out two.
NW Arkansas Naturals (9-8 second half, 34-53 overall)
NW Arkansas 3, Frisco 0
WP: Jason Adam (3-8)
SV: Andrew Triggs (12)
HR: Hunter Dozier (2 with NW Arkansas, 6 overall), Lane Adams (10)
Northwest Arkansas won its second straight over Frisco. Jason Adam (5.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO) earned the win with Scott Alexander (2.0 IP), Noel Arguelles (0.2 IP) and Andrew Triggs (1.1 IP) completing the shutout. Hunter Dozier homered for the second time in as many days and Lane Adams recorded two doubles and a home run.
Wilmington Blue Rocks (8-9 second half, 41-44 overall)
Winston-Salem 7, Wilmington 1
LP: Miguel Almonte (5-4)
Wilmington's four-game winning streak was snapped in the series finale at Winston-Salem. Miguel Almonte allowed six runs (five earned), seven hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings. Jared Schlehuber doubled in the fifth and scored when Terrance Gore grounded into a force out. Cody Stubbs, Ramon Torres and Mark Threlkeld added singles.
Lexington Legends (6-12 second half, 35-53 overall)
Lexington 8, Asheville 7
WP: Alex Black (2-1)
SV: Kevin Perez (2)
Lexington rallied with four runs in the ninth to overtake Asheville. Frank Schwindel was 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs. Kenny Diekroeger had two hits, two RBIs and two runs. Mauricio Ramos added two hits and two RBIs of his own.
Idaho Falls Chukars (10-11)
Idaho Falls 13, Ogden 4
WP: Jake Newberry (2-0)
HR: Mike Hill (2)
Idaho Falls finished 4-3 in a home-and-home series with Ogden. Every Chukars starter recorded at least one hit. Idaho Falls took an 8-2 lead with seven runs in the fourth, and then added four in the seventh, including a three-run homer from Mike Hill. Jake Newberry (5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO) picked up his second win. The Chukars head to Billings (Reds) on Tuesday.
Burlington Royals (8-9)
Bluefield 8, Burlington 3
LP: Andres Machado (1-1)
HR: Chase Vallot 3, Joshua Banuelos (1)
Burlington built a 3-0 lead on two homers in the first inning before losing game one at Bluefield. Chase Vallot, the 40th overall selection in last month's Draft, hit a two-run shot. Twenty-eigth-roud pick Joshua Banuelos hit his first professional home run. Blue Springs native Logan Moon doubled and scored a run, extending his hitting streak to nine games (.353, 12-for-34). Foster Griffin struck out two and allowed one run over 2.2 innings. The lefty was selected 28th overall last month.
