Royals Minor League report: July 8

Omaha Storm Chasers (48-44)

Omaha 7, Iowa 6

Brian Bocock's single scored Francisco Pena as Omaha walked off with a win. Bocock recorded three hits and two runs. Whit Merrifield added three hits, an RBI, a walk and two runs. He has a nine-game hitting streak (.395, 15-for-38) and is batting .393 with Omaha (46-for-117). Paulo Orlando added two singles and two RBI. The All-Star outfielder is second in the PCL with 105 hits.

NW Arkansas Naturals (9-9 second half, 34-54 overall)

The Naturals had Tuesday off. They are at Springfield (Cardinals) tonight, where they will play eight of their next 12 games.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (9-9 second half, 42-44 overall)

Wilmington at Potomac - Postponed due to rain

Wilmington is scheduled to play a pair tonight after a rainout on Tuesday. 2013 supplemental pick Sean Manaea will start game one. Fellow lefty and 2014 first-rounder Brandon Finnegan will make his professional debut in the nightcap.

Lexington Legends (8-12 second half, 37-53 overall)

Lexington 16, Hickory 8

HR: Mauricio Ramos (5)

Lexington won a wild game, countering Hickory's five-run first with eight in the second. Every starter scored a run and eight players drove in at least one. Mauricio Ramos posted five hits, five runs and two RBI. Chad Johnson recorded three hits, four RBI and a run. Elier Hernandez added four hits, two RBI and two runs.

Idaho Falls Chukars (11-11)

Idaho Falls 10, Billings 6
WP: Javier Reynoso (1-2)
HR: Wander Franco (1)

The Chukars scored four in the first en route to an opening win at Billings. All nine starters scored a run. Wander Franco finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs. He has hit safely in six straight games (.520, 13-for-25). Kyle Pollock was 4-for-4 with three RBI.

Burlington Royals (8-11)

Bluefield 8, Burlington 3
LP: Niklas Stephenson (0-1)
HR: D.J. Burt (2)

Burlington was swept in a three-game set at Bluefield. All nine starters reached base for the Royals. Cristian Cano, Amalani Fukofuka and Chase Vallot recorded two hits apiece. 2014 fourth-round pick D.J. Burt hit a solo homer in the fifth.
