Liam Hendriks led the way in his Omaha debut, recording a career-best 12 K's and no walks over seven innings. He allowed two runs and seven hits while posting Omaha's highest strikeout total since 1999. Hendriks has 103 strikeouts and just seven walks in 115 1/3 Triple-A innings this year. Pedro Ciriaco was 4-for-5, finishing a home run from the cycle. Francisco Pena hit his 23rd home run, which is tied for second in the PCL.

Northwest Arkansas knotted a road series at a game apiece. Christian Binford (6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) settled in after two runs scored in the first. Orlando Calixte singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth. He also hit a solo homer in the fifth. Cheslor Cuthbert added an RBI. Binford is ranked eighth among Royals prospects by MLB.com, Calixte 12th and Cuthbert 15th.

Wilmington dropped game one vs. the Keys. 2014 first-round pick Brandon Finnegan (4 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K) allowed his first run as a professional on a homer in the second. The sixth-ranked Royals prospect has a 0.60 ERA through 15 innings and was promoted to Double-A after the game. 13th-ranked Royals prospect Bubba Starling doubled home Wilmington's first run in the seventh and scored on Zane Evans' single.

WP: Matt Tenuta (5-8)
SV: Pedro Fernandez (2)
Matt Tenuta (6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K) and Pedro Fernandez (3 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K) combined on a shutout. Dex Kjerstad tripled home a run in the fifth and added insurance with a three-run double in the sixth.
Idaho Falls Chukars (1-5 second half, 21-23 overall)

The Chukars are 0-3 in a four-game set. Jake Newberry (5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 K) has lost three straight starts after going 3-0 with a 2.28 ERA through his first five outings. Brandon Downes recorded a fourth consecutive multihit game with two doubles, an RBI and a run.

Burlington is 1-1 at Princeton. 2014 second-round pick and 11th-ranked Royals prospect Scott Blewett tossed four scoreless innings, scattering two hits, two walks and four strikeouts. Joshua Banuelos, Angelo Castellano and Brandon Dulin each drove in a run.
