The Giants were deeply saddened to learn that longtime Hall of Fame baseball writer Nick "The Greek" Peters passed away today at the age of 75. Nick was a legend among sportswriters in Northern California and throughout baseball. He covered more San Francisco Giants games than any other sports writer during his career that spanned five decades. Nick was known not only for his writing talent and encyclopedic knowledge of baseball, but also for his mentorship of many young reporters who rose through the ranks of sports journalism. He will be deeply missed by the entire Giants organization and our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Lise and the entire Peters family.
