Royal foil: KC downs Tribe
Sabathia's effort for naught
Starter C.C. Sabathia was once again victimized by a lack of run support as Cleveland continued its offensive struggles. The Indians managed just one run against Royals starter Zack Greinke and a string of Kansas City relievers. The Tribe remains in first place despite the loss.

Royals revel as spoilers
Zack Greinke pitched three impressive innings in a spot start for the Royals. Equally impressive was Kansas City's bullpen, which allowed just one run in six innings, as left-hander John Bale picked up his first win. Esteban German and Emil Brown each picked up an RBI in the win.
