Coaching Career
Sisson will serve his second season as the Royals' first base coach after being named to staff on October 21, 2010 ... As first base/baserunning coach, Sisson helped the Royals swipe 153 bases in 2011, third-most in the Majors and the most for a Royals club since the 1996 team swiped 195...eight different Royals stole at least 10 bases and four topped the 20-steal mark ... In addition, he coached the outfielders, including the threesome of Alex Gordon (20), Melky Cabrera (13) and Jeff Francoeur (16), who combined for a Major League-leading 51 assists, the second-most in Royals history behind 1969 (53)...the KC outfield was also involved in nailing a big league-leading 26 runners at the plate this year, the second most in MLB since 1974 (Montreal Expos, 30 in 1978), which is as far back as that information is available...Gordon, whose 20 assists shattered the club's record of 17, won his first career Rawlings Gold Glove for his work in left field.

Served three seasons from 2008-2010 as the Royals' minor league field coordinator...oversaw a system that was rated by Baseball America as the top in all of baseball entering 2011 ... Prior to joining the Royals organization, spent two seasons as associate head coach at the University of Georgia, helping the Bulldogs advance to the College World Series in 2006 ... Served as the minor league field coordinator for the Montreal Expos and Washington Nationals from 2003-05, also managing at Brevard County (A) in 2003 ... Managed Arkansas (AA) in the Anaheim Angels system in 2002 ... Served as manager of the St. Paul Saints in the independent Northern League in 2001 ... Managed in the Montreal Expos organization from 1995-2000...was honored by Baseball America as the Best Managerial Prospect in both the South Atlantic League and the Florida State League...named Florida State League Manager of the Year in 1998 at Jupiter and won Eastern League title with Harrisburg in 1999 ... Managed in 1993 with Erie (A) in the Rangers' system and with Hudson Valley (A) in 1994 ... Began professional coaching career and a hitting and fielding coach with Butte (R) in 1991 before shifting to Charlotte (A) in 1992 ...
