Challenger Baseball

Challenger Baseball allows children with cognitive or physical disabilities the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of playing baseball, in an environment that caters to their very special needs. Our philosophy is very simple: "play, just for fun!!" You can't beat it!

The "game" is played in a safe, recreational environment, where no score is kept. "Buddies" are assigned (one on one) to each participant. These Buddies are "mentors" to the Challenger players, and assist with their involvement in the game. Pushing wheelchairs around the base path – assisting players in how to hold the bat and swing – providing protection for the Challenger player from batted ball – these are just a few of the ways the Buddies offer a better experience for the participants in Challenger Baseball.

The Toronto Blue Jays are proud to host the National Challenger Baseball Jamboree on Saturday, June 7 at the conclusion of the Blue Jays vs. Cardinals game at Rogers Centre. The exact start time will not be determined until the final out is recorded, and children have finished Running the Bases. Interested participants (and families) must have a ticket to the baseball game in order to attend the postgame Jamboree. Participants must preregister prior to attending the event. The Jamboree will be a collection of baseball games taking place on the field at Rogers Centre. Space is limited, so register today!

NOTE: The National Jamboree is open only to registered Challenger Baseball players in Canada. To find out more about a Challenger Baseball program near you, contact info@challengerbaseball.ca.
